Microsoft Teams Introduces Custom Backgrounds for Announcement Posts

For those unfamiliar, announcement posts are a type of post that stands out from regular posts or responses. They offer an additional way for users to communicate important information, share updates, or express themselves creatively. The new custom backgrounds feature is designed to enhance this experience even further.

To get started, simply create a new announcement post and select the background you like. You can choose from a variety of options, including images and examples provided by Microsoft Designer. Once you've selected your background, you'll have the option to customize it further using the Designer Mini Dialog or insert it directly into your announcement post.

For those in GCC High/DoD environments, don't worry – this feature will begin rolling out in late November and is expected to be completed by mid-January. Standard Release/GCC users can expect the update early in November, with completion slated for mid-November. Targeted Release and Preview users will see the feature roll out mid-October, with a completion date of late October.
